In
traditional VCR-based surveillance systems, cameras
recorded continuously or in time-lapse mode to a
video tape. With the addition of a video
multiplexer, multiple cameras could be recorded on
the same video tape. This required the use of
industrial grade video tapes which had to be changed
frequently and rotated with others to store a number
of days or weeks worth of recordings. With digital
recording technology, all of this has changed.
VINCI is a pioneer in the digital video surveillance
field with over 1,800 installations throughout
Europe over the past 10 years. VINCI has developed
numerous proprietary technologies which bring
intelligence to the recording of video surveillance
images.
The
VINCI system performs a robust constant analysis of
camera images. The system is programmed to decide,
on the basis of this analysis, whether the recorded
event is significant from the point of view of the
operational principles of the user. Insignificant
events are passed over, but if a significant event
is detected then a programmed reaction sequence is
initiated triggering alarms, locking doors and/or
transmitting images to remote guard stations.
Compare with simplistic detection capability similar
to simple door contacts for other systems.
The
bottom line is that the VINCI System does not stop
at simple 24/7 recording with a little search
function and a little motion detection thrown in.
Rather, the VINCI System permits users to receive,
evaluate and store when appropriate video
information in a intelligent manner. As a result,
users of VINCI System products have a superior
ability to bring appropriate information to the
attention of the right person in a timely manner.
The ability of the VINCI System to distinguish
between events and to trigger action permits a
standardization of company response and an unmatched
ability to intelligently respond to events as they
happen.
